Yes because ABS pumps/sensors cycle at least 10 times faster than a human.

I dont have ABS but I'm damn impressed with the braking on my max. I sometimes try to make them lock up in wet and icy conditions with barely anything. Torque steer off the line, now thats where things get interesting.

Anyway, I've seen other VE's with ABS, and personally I wouldnt want it. It makes adjusting the timming a B!tch.

well, personally i think that abs is an extra amount of unneeded weight, if you cant break on you own then why drive?
the lighter - the faster

I dont understand this post at all. What does torque steer have to do with ABS? What timing are you referring to?

Faster is not always better. If you know how to brake without ABS, you can usually stop a lot faster then you can with ABS.
My Max doesn't have ABS, and I have driven some that do, through snow, and I can stop a lot quicker and safer without it then with in really ****ty conditions. Which we have up here.
However, in dry conditions, ABS is better, but since I live in New England, with lots of hills, curves, and snow, I'd rather NOT have it and trust in my own driving skills, which have never failed me.

Only by a skilled driver and if you test 100 times, the abs distances will be much more consistent. Especially for different conditions.

I can romp on my brakes pretty hard before the abs kicks in though

Its called steering

Itss not about stopping, but steering and having control while the puter does the brakes. I have had 2 instances in snow and ice over the last 4 years where I was able to avoid an accident by steering around it. The last one I was able to steer the car around the car in front of me that was spinning out on a parkway in the snow and the car behind me hit him broadside. My 92 was my first car with them now I wouldn't buy one without them.

Exactly,

It's about the ability to maintain steering while attaining maximum braking in inclement weather conditions. ABS rules!

ABS all the way!

Living in the upper peninsula of michigan, ABS is a neccessity.
Its a great help on the mostly icy roads that we have 7 months of the year.

Had it , Broke it , Disabled it. Any questions??

Actually I have never had a car with ABS before I got the max so not having it on the max isint an issue you cant miss what you have never had.

This has become a bothersome trend everywhere. I went to the Nissan dealer inquiring about a '03 SpecV with ABS and was told there is not one in the local region meaning MI, OH, IN, IL, WI!!

Not one in the whole of 5 states! I have driven with and without ABS and it is very useful in my opinion. The problem is too many fools don't know what is happening when the pedal pulses and take their foots off the brake! How ignorant!

I'm sure most with ABS have experienced how the insurance industry has stopped giving a discount for cars with ABS. All because of the people I just mentioned.

End RANT
