maxima motor

hi maxima dudes.... I don't know much about maxima engines.. I need to know if I can replace the engine in my 89 for a newer one, will a 93 or 94 fit on the 89 SE, is there any convertion to be made?

89-94 GXE (VG) engine will fit in 92-94 SE (VE) there is a different engine it WILL not fit. And i would make use of the search and the FAQ's before asking simple questios like these, because you will be shot down if u don't....

if by fit you mean there is enough room in the engine bay for it then yes it will "fit". but if you want to put a VE engine into your 89 then you're gunna probably need another transmission and the engine/tranmission mounts are also different. so theres a lot of work and $$$ involved. maybe ednina05 was talking about puting a VG from a 93 or 94 and that would probably work with a lot less pain.

It's actually the same transmission in all of them, I just got my transmission replaced with a brand new transmission I have a ve and it was made for a VG the only difference in the transmissions are locking differential and non locking diff. and you have to match that.

You mean LSD. Locking diffs and LSD's are different.
