Opinions Please - Sell 94 GXE?
This is what I am considering...selling my car, and buying a 96 GLE.
With the 96 GLE I would get:
My Car is a 94 GXE with 126K a few aftermarket goodies, and has been excetpionally maintained. Some of the major maintenance things I've had done are:
• New Brakes all the way around
• Timing Belt
• All New Drive Belts
• Water Pump
• Crank & Cam Seals
• New Ac Compressor & AC Control Unit
• New Radiator
• New Battery & Alternator
• Fuel Induction Cleaning
• New Left Front Wheel Hub Assembly
• New Right Rear Window Regulator
As far as aftermarket goes, I would sell the car with new tokicos and eibachs, UDP, new RF component speakers, Intake unless buyer doesnt want it (I still have stock unit), and Viper Remote Stater and Alarm System, leather wrapped steering wheel, clear corners, cargo net, and FSTB (I may just sell the bar on here with some other stuff) and possibly my brand new PIAA 1500 Series fog lights. The interior is in excellent condition, and the engine wont need any maintenance until 180K. The wheels, XM radio, subs and one of the amps are coming with me.
Because my car has been maintained so well and odes have some extra goodies I am looking to get somewhere between 5 - 7K for it. Now I don't want opinions on the price I may sell my car for! I know what I can or cannot sell this thing for around here.
So, after all that, what do ya'll think. Keep my car or sell it and get the 96 GLE?
I'm definitely leaning towards the 96 GLE.

I've got a 94 GXE and a 98 GLE. The 3rd gen feels more tossable stock. The 4th gen just feels stronger. My personal pref is my 98 (but it could also be because of the GLE options and overall look).

truthfully its all about what you want...I never got to see your ride in person, but the pics make it out to be immaculate. personally with the highmialge problems that can develop in the mid/upper 100k miles...I'd sell now while the car is in tip top shape, BUT only if the 4th gen you get is a low mialage one and in just as great shape as your 3rd gen was.

It's been said. Buy what you want (and can afford). If you're wanting the newer one because of the mileage on yours... Just look at all the other posts on the board about great running, high mileage 94's.
Depending on why you want to change...my vote would be to keep what you have. You have made the changes that you presumably make it the car you love to drive. If you buy the GLE, you'll also have to spend the bucks to make the changes you want (XM, etc.).
I decided a while ago, I'm keeping mine till it dies (or close to it anyway). I have a Suburban, an Audi and my 94 GXE.
That's my 2 cents FWIW.

Da-max that's what I'm thinking also...sell while the car is in tip top shape, and I wouldn't sell it unless I found the perfect 4th gen (low mileage, fully equiped, well maintained, and very clean).
Instead of putting anymore money into my 94 I'd rather put my money into a newer, better equipped car; I can always put a stereo system in, or add suspension and performance mods to the 4th gen, but it's not as easy to add all the options I'd like on my 94.
The pics you all have seen were from right after I fully detailed my car, and I'm not going to lie and tell you it stays that way all the time...because it definitely doesn't (especially in the winter). The paint does have some blemishes and rough spots, but nothing out of the ordinary for a 94.
It really is a hard decision for me to make. If I wasn't going to school full-time right now I would probably just keep the 94 and buy the 96 in addition.
If I do decide to sell the 94, the wheels will be on my new max.
