quick question on starters

quick question on starters

Are all 3rd gen starters the same? Could I use a starter pulled from a VG on a VE?

Not sure of the if they are interchangeable, but don't buy one from Schuck's!!! I bought upwards of 5 and NONE of them worked. I finally went to a local starter rebuild shop and it works fine now.

no there not the same... there are two of them made for the max...

lol funny you should mention it....i bought a replacement starter from oreillys and have had it changed about 5 times under lifetime warranty....the first 4 times, i paid labor only, $50 each time, then it suddenly dawned on me duh! this is the easiest thing you can replace on your car, even easier than changing your oil or tire. Did it the last time myself...took it off, gave it to the guys at oreilly and they gave me a replacement immediately.
