I have 1992 Maxima. In the last few days it starts back firing and literally stalls. When I floor the gas paddle all the way down, it moves. The problem lasts for 2-3 minutes and then everything is back to normal. It has done it 3 times in the last 3 days. I have seen the same problem in several maximas but have not found a solution for it.

I am also smelling gas in the car but have not seen a leak or a gas stain in my driveway.
Please help.

 

Use the search function, it's in the top right of your screen. Search under fuel injectors/backfiring, etc. This topic has been discussed plenty of times.
