Hybrid intake is in....

got my '95 Eclipse intake pipe today...the install went pretty well, finally got rid of the the OEM pipe for a nice shiny "no-name" brand intake pipe! the car does feel a little more peppy down mid-range to down low, but I dunno, haven't really tested it yet. and yeah the filter does look kinda high, but it clears the hood just enough and gives the engine bay a different look than from other 3rd gen hybrid intakes.

not bad, but can I offer you a bit of advice? Get a better + battery connector. And add another piece os 4 AWG to the ground side of the battery. Your system will thank you for it.

(FYI, you need just as big of ground cable added to the system as + cable. how else would the electricity make a complete circuit, other than through the already maxed-out factory ground).

cool I got you...any particular place the other ground should be grounded, or just on the OEM spot??

nice, I did mine with a hybrid setup a couple weeks ago. I like it much better than the CAI, but I haven't been to the track to see if its helped any.

Hey Matt could you explain this a little for me, i am having a problem where my headunit turns off at a certain volume and maybe its because of a power shorttage or a battery connection like you said.

my friend had a similar prob in his '95 Max...turned out that (according to the tech at Circut City)the "constant wire" on the radio was exposed and shorted out whenever the volume was high, thus the radio would go out when the volume was high. not sure if thats your prob, but they fixed it for free.

don't you see the pics in my first post up top... basically the hybrid intake is come type of aftermarket intake piping and a cone filter(basically its not just the cone filter and the OEM plastic pipe, but not yet a CAI).

Hey, Matt, so what you are saying is to connect wire to the (-) post of the battery, then where would I ground the othere side--The car's body??

Thanks
