Engine swap

hello all once again!
My sister told me tonight that after she gets her settlement from court she is going to sign my max back to me. So now i am selling my bike http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2403795090 and i am wondering if i should do a motor swap? i will have somewhere between 2000 and 3000 to invest in the car. should i get a new motor from something faster, or leave it alone and buy another car? the max currently has 204k and runs great. but a new motor is definatly in its future with this milage. man she looks so beautiful! take a look http://teamacceleration.com/pictures...r%20rides.html
let me know what you guys think!

For all motor buy a VG33E from a 96-00 frontier @ www.car-part.com. If you plan on going making bigger power order a JDM (japan domestic market) VG30ET. Places like Soko, nippon-motors, www.car-part.com should have the engines. For the install search the forum for specifics.

at least you're getting the car back. The kit looks very nice, you'll do something creative with those 2000-3000 you have to spend. Run the engine till it dies which might be never and keep the 2000-3000 for other things.

hey Dennis this is great news, Why not get a jdm engine for like $1300 (pm me ill give you all the info) with 30-40k and then do a 5spd swap ~$1000

and then you can save the rest or use it to repair other stuff that will eventually break.

I've seen JDM VG30Es for around $600-800...its only usually the VEs that cost $1300.

you can pick up VGs locally for $300, but a VE is still well over $1000. just not that many out there, as opposed to cookie cutter VGs.

THe only reason Frontiers have that extra .3L is because of different internals right? Not bored out or anything? If so, would it be possible to switch out VG33E internals with VG30DE internals?

Just wondering.

That VG33 is nice in the rental quest I have...I would say go for it, I can break the tires loose off the line with no problem I could imagine what it would be like in a 1000+ pound less Max.

thanks for the input

well it may be a few weeks but im patient. I like the idea of a full swap. but here is another idea, i found a 92 se 5 spd same color and leather. so now i have the option of buying it with my bike money, switch all parts i need to the 92, and then ebay the original 91 and use that money to make the 92 better. i think we have a winner. but im sitll deciding. the 92 has incosistant oil pressure , water pump is going bad, and im not sure what else. so im looking into it. If i do a 92 red with black leather, it will be the same as N34JZ's. We have always been twins why not make it offical.

Get the VE, you are starting out higher and with VLSD and VI. Then you just boost that mess...

Thanks for the info from you n Matt. I guess a custom rebuilt VG would be better than trying to mix and match parts from that mess.

Hmmm...I'm kinda interested in doing a engine/tranny swap.

You're saying I can get a good JDM engine and swap my auto to a 5spd for about $2300 ??

If so, let me know where...

true, but if you go too low on price forsome of these JDM motors you can also get sent a pile of crap with all types of hidden problems you don't find out about till its in your car and won't start!
