I'm pretty sure they don't make headers for our cars. I can't remember the thread, but I recall some company trying it out at one point and they lost power. Other than that WSP for pretty much everything. You can choose your own b pipe and muffler since aesthetics and exhaust note are completely up to you.

Those links should help in the decision making process though...

Good luck on your new exhaust.

As far as whats out there? do some research before you post, and if you really do think it is "junk" give me you reasons?

we spend a good amount of $$$$ and it ain't cool when you say bad stuff about it when it's probably the best thing out there.

rusting? I thought they were stainless steel...I would love a Greddy but can understand not wanting to spend that much...I couldnt so I compromised.

Are you talking about the muffler messing up because I read someone somewhere that all the fiberglass backing came out of the muffler but I havent heard of rusting.

Oh well to each his own.

If I were in your position this is what I would do, I would think of two options:

1. A Greddy always nice and the sound is perfect for the 3rd gen maxima.

2. Awsm66 custom exhaust which sounds very similar to the Greddy. I don't know his specific compnents but you can e-mail him and I'm sure he will be more than happy to help you.

+ you can always sell the greddy if you decide to sell the car, just keep the old exhaust or try and trade for someones stock + $$ since it will be in the same shape as when you put it on the car, you can probably get a couple hundred for it

Here's that Greddy rust problem, not the muffler, but the resonator. Plus there's this little ditty on the packing coming loose. So you Greddy boys might wan't to look out.

Hope that helps everyone out and silences a couple of you.

I was surprised too! because with the ~$500 tag you'd think full SS back, or at least I would

Damn, I wish the shops here would do mandrels. Everyone and their mother just uses crush bends.

Actually i think Pacesetter makes headers for us. But i heard its not worth the money, no real gain from them, plus its Pacesetter!! Not the best quality!

Not me I knew it was aluminized steel I read before buying it and was dissapointed and aware of rusting. But everytime I wash my car I get under and clean the exhaust and the aluminzed steel and don't drive it in the snow at all almost. I was thinking if I keep these things up my Greddy should last a long time.

only headers I know of the PS makes are for the n/a z31...and they won't fit on a Max.

interesting!!! that looks like a valid design for our motors too...wonder what the pricing is gonna be like?? and I wonder what motor its for VG or VE, being that I think the ports differ from round to oval respectively.

A few issues come to mind.

1)What material is it made out of???
2)Are there going to be any real and significant gains??? (with dyno charts to prove said gains)
3)If it is anything like the picture, it looks like it'll be replacing the Y-pipe with one of theirs. WHERE'S THE FLEX SECTION?!?!?!?!

and finally...

4)This is Pace Setter, and I hear a lot of bad mojo about them. Can they be counted on for reliability??? What about fitment???

I don't know if pace-setter would be the company to buy from, I read that their quality is bad and products usually suck. Some 4th gen guys bought some headers from Australia and when they installed it, it made no difference at all. Not worth save your money and buy a y-pipe which is more effective.

Headers....the only way to get a header for the 3rd generation max is to have it custom done. There is nothing out there for our cars Look into a good exhaust dealer in your area and for about $200-$300 you should be able to get one custom done. Well atleast that is the going price here in Hawaii!! Been there done that. Happy hunting!!

Warpspeed y-pipes from www.warpspeedperformance.com

Excellent products at a very reasonable price. They also sell catalytic convereters which you should change because they are high flow for $107.00 shipped.
