Just got back from a roadtrip...

... and I love my Max 145k miles, didn't have any problems on the road, and I still got almost 35 MPG!
Get to do it next weekend... Had to drive to NC to pick up my niece, and I'm driving her back down to drop her off... We decided that in light of the war, we didn't want a 12-year old to be flying, and I was the only one that had a reliable car available.

Since you didn't say where your road trip began I was forced to look at your profile. CT to NC is a decent haul, not too bad. Did you have someone riding shot-gun to help count the mile markers

Yeah, I did forget to say, eh? Yeah, I had my sisters' ex riding with me. It was about 1.6k miles altogether, took us about 13 hours to get down there, and about 16 back... I took over when we were supposed to get on the Jersey Turnpike, but he told me to look for the Garden State Parkway... Well, since I didn't have the map available (It was nighttime) and I was sleeping on the way out, we ended up taking the LONG way... I stayed on 95 until it turned into the Jersey Pike instead of taking the shortcut over the Delaware Memorial Bridge... But it's all good, I'm happy with the whole trip

OK, I gotta ask, how the heck did you get 35mpg? I've heard of low of high 20's and low 30's but 35? that comes to almost 650 miles on one tank. Personally the best I have ever gotten is 500 miles on one tank which translates to 27mpg. Is it all downhill or did you draft a semi's butt the whole way?

hmm 35 IS kinda high and too good to be true, but then I get an average of 30mpg using 89 with 10% ethanol. With both 10% ethanol and 10% ether, i got about 32, dont ask me how. Got the gas at a texaco in phoenix.

I got 34 MPG once. I pretty much drove at the same speed all highway to accomplish this. Otherwise, I only get about 25 MPG in mixed City/Hwy driving.
