Since theres been a lot of talk about power steering latley I decided to change the fluid. My max is pushing 100k I thought it was well over due. Some of us have had power steering pump failures and experienced a lot of headaches doing the job. I found that my fluid was pretty burnt looking, since it should look blood red. I picked up a qt of mobile one synthetic ATF $6(Dextron/mercron), pumped out the old stuff from the PS tank (removing the filter screen first). I found that 1qt is more than enough to do two drain and fills. I'll wait until next week to do the second. Note that you do need a pump or syphon to remove the old stuff from the tank.

I think I'm going to put a very small magnet (neodymium) in the filter screen tank, to pick up any metal that may be floating in there.
