i have no clue how long i have been riding around with it like that... all the side walls of the filter were melted away.. and there was leaf particals stuck in the MAF filter screen... im guessing that i have been driving around wiht no air filter for about 2 months

Lemme guess, you had a cheap plastic cone filter? Foam? or gauze?

I'm sure any possible damage to his engine plus this should be enough to get him thinkin' twice next time.

now with the flaming aside...
just get a K&N cone filter and replace that POS filter that crapped out on you. Can't go wrong with K&N. just hope your engine didn't suffer any internal damages.

i had a grand prix before my 92 vg. i remember going to change the air filter on that and finding that 90% of the filter was ripped out.
after a little investigation it turns out that a mouse was crawling up the tubing and when it got to the airbox it decided to snack on the filter.

so be warned people, even if you're like me and have the stock intake still. routinely check up on your air filter. cause you don't know what's going on until you open your air box and look.
