I have a 92 SE and the computer is under the glove compartment. Can anyone tell me what I am supposed to unscrew or pull off in order to get to the computer?
The (POS) Haynes manual just says, "pull it out."

 

remove the passenger side kick panel on the center section(radio, HVAC, etc.) you'll see the ECU and AT control(if you are an auto). whay year/gen Haynes manual are you using??

 

1988-1992 haynes manual... the engines in the illustrations have a totally different layout than mine... so irritating. All the manual says is that some of the earlier 3rd gens have the computer under the passenger seat.

you need to buy either a chilton's or a nissan service manual. the VE engine basically doesn't exist in the haynes.

 

Not even my '89 has the computer under the seat.

 

the 88's do.
