Brake problem

Brake problem

I have a 91se that started having brake probs about 6 months ago. At first it was just occassionally, then about 2 months ago it started a lot more.
My problem is when I am just about to stop the pedal vibrates and the car lurches forward. I have replaced the Master Cyl, pads, rotors, and calipers, changed brake fluid and bled the brakes several time per the manual. The abs light is not on, and a local dealer told me that it was worthless to bring it in for a diagnostic.
The problem seams to happen more frequently when I am going downhill, although it is starting to do it on level ground just as much.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

check the ABS computer in the trunk.. drive the car for 10-15 minutes, then stop the car and check the computer.. (leave the engine running)..

if the ABS computer is having any problems, it will flash codes on an LED mounted somewhere on the box.

Would you happen to know if the speed sensor could affect the ABS or braking system?

shouldn't, but I'm not 100% sure. But I don't think the vehicle speed comes into play.. only the differences between the sensors in each wheel. if the computer detects different rotating speeds on any wheel, it assumes one is locking up.



BTW.. probably a good idea to pull your brake rotors off and clean off the sensors and splined teeth on the axles/wheel hubs. that's often the problem.
