My Maxima has been making a loud squealing noise with the gas pedal down at higher rpms... has anyone had a problem like this? I checked the engine bay and there doesn't look to be any loose or worn parts but I'm not a car expert so I can't say for sure.

The sound only comes when the gas is pressed down, cruising at higher rpms (like downshifting 5-3 on the highway but not holding the gas down much) doesn't make the sound. The sound increases in pitch and loudness as you push the gas down further.

Any help would be greaty appreciated

 

brake wear pads? I thought the only sounded when you press the brakes, but apparently the also sound while just driving.

 

Nah I've heard that sound on my mom's blazer, this sound is definitely tied to the gas pedal position. maybe I should record the sound...
