any ideas?

Okay... I have the hard shifting and occassional stalling...
I checked my ECU and the code came up 55, which means none of the sensors are malfunctioning. Today I was adjusting my throttle cable and the check engine light came on. But it was a code of 55 again. Why would that happen if nothing was wrong with the engine?

Lately I can't really go past 65mph. It starts to feel like I'm driving into an incredibly strong wind. Also, my car has been using oil very quickly and when I first start it I can smell gas.

I've taken it to two different mechanics, but they said the transmission looks good.

I've had a new fuel filter put in, cleaned the throttle body, checked the ignition coils and had the fuel injectors cleaned in the past 3 months.

Anybody have any ideas?
