Hi, my car makes a wining noise that comes from the engine compartment. I'm positive its not the engine. I sounds like its coming from the gearbox. I haven't changed or add oil to the gearbox for almost 3 years. The gears changes normal and everything. When I rev the motor a little bit the grinding noise goes away. Also when I'm driving and go downhill at a certain speed the noise dissappear but as soon as I either accelerate or dissalerate a little more it comes back.
Also, how do I check the gearoil and how do I change it?
Any advice is more than welcome.

I have that sme noise too......

sorta like a VERY light grinding noise upon initial acceleration for about a second or two than it fades out. I usually only hear it once or twice after I have started the car up than never again. and sometimes it doesn't happen at all!! just got my tranny rebuilt too and so far so good, so I doubt it's linked to the tranny, but you can never be too sure!?
