That's gotta be a record for the lowest miles on one tank of gas. Heck that thing is drinking almost 4 times the amount of gas then it should. Does the car even run good? I would think it would be running so rich it would hardly move.
If it's running smooth then I'm with the idea of a leak in the fuel line somewhere. If the car is parked outside and its hot then you might not be able to see a puddle as the gas evaporates to fast.

only time I've ever got under 200 miles on a tank was when I went on a "spirited" drive through the N. Georgia mountains at Maxus 2000. four hours of sliding sideways through corners, up and down hills, and I still got over 200 miles on that tank.
there's a lot more wrong than spark plugs and air filter. they'd be the top of the list to change, but it's also got a lot of other problems.. sensors, vacuum lines, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, etc etc.

hey quick question while on gas milage. If you advance timing like how Craigs site says to, do you need to run 93 octane from that point forward? I heard you did, also what happens if you dont? Also will gas milage go down a little bit?

Yes your gas mileage will go down. After seeing how much faster your car will be will make you drive faster; kinda like the first two weeks after you add another mod.

Premium Fuel? I haven't used premium fuel in my car ever and I have never had a problem. I also get at least 400 miles to a tank, usually 450+. Just had my car smogged and found my timming to 17 degrees to. Of course with the type of blend they mix up here in California and at the price they sell it the gas should be premium.
From the stuff I have read you only need to run premium fuel if your car has detonation issues. There is no other benifit to running it. It is not any "cleaner" then regular fuel, it is just a blend that ignites at a higher temperature.
Fuel that ignites at a higher temperature will actually put out less energy overall then a fuel at a lower temperature. Just consult your T-s diagrams from Thermodyanamics and you'l see what I mean. It is all about the area under the curve. This is of course comparing two indentical engines and not the difference between an engine with advanced timming or boosted and one that isn't.

you should run at LEAST 89 octane in the VE due to the higher compression. VG engines don't care much. if you advance your timing, then you need to run even higher octane. I run 93 in mine with advanced timing and sometimes get detonation on really hot days in summer.
