what is a tranny problem?
my max. is a 93' gxe automatic. 65k mileage. i change transmission oil every 20k miles. i found that the transmission doesn't switch gear smooth. especially when i accelerate from 15 to 30 miles. you would feel that the gear box just switch to a higher gear obviously. is my tranny ok? i have heard people talking about the tranny starts to slip.. what is that?

tranny slip would be when the motor changes gears, then revs up a little bit after engageing in the next gear up. this engine rev is caused by the transmission not being able to put all the power to the wheels, slipping inside the tranny. once you build up some speed and there is less stress on the tranny, it engages all the way and runs normally.
i dont know the exact cause of your problem though, could be numerous things.

Re: what is a tranny problem?
Well, I have a brand new rebuilt transmission, and the only place you can feel when it shifts is from 1st to second(15-30). All the other gears shift very well, so I'm assuming that it might be normal. Unless of course like your car shakes, or it shifts really hard. Or maybe mine is strange

YUP.. I ONLY FEEL THE GEAR UPSHIFT FROM 15 TO 30 MILES.. ESPECIALLY NOTICABLE WHEN I AM ACCELERATING VERY GENTLELY. IF I ACCELERATE VERY FAST, I WON'T FEEL THE SHIFT.. DON'T KNOW IF I CAN MAKE MY TRANNY LIVE LONGER IF I CHANGE SYNTHETIC TRANSMISSION OIL EVERY YEAR.
