BMW E36 Headlights(Need Help)

Yea im intrested i purchasing the 92-98 BMW E36 headlights for my 1992 Nissan Maxima gxe. I wanted to know everything you need to make the conversion. I know I need bulbs, but will it fit right into the slot where the stock headlight came from. It comes with a U.S. Spec wiring harness also, I just want to know what else I have to do before I really consider purchasing these headlights. Im up for all opinions, but mostly facts. Thank You

I am about to purchase a set of Euro-spec ZKW lights w/DDE conversion, and the person I'm going to purchase them from said they are slightly larger then the US-spec. Does anyone know if there would be a serious fitment issue, or would it just be a minor matter of more power tools?

Dude, there's absolutely NO reason for you to hire a mechanic to do this. Unless of course you WANT to waste money like that. I did it, and it only took half a day from my otherwise busy schedule. Heck, anyone that can cut paper with scissors, butt-connect a wire, or walk while chewing bubblegum can do this mod!

Just MY $0.02 worth...

I know you just want to make sure you're doing this conversion right bro (if there's such a thing as "right" when putting BMW headlights on a Nissan...), and you may or may not get mad at me for saying this, but you obviously haven't read the 2nd post in this thread that Craig put up. But for your convenience, here ya go:

I just followed the instructions on that page and had NO problems. And for the love of Pete, use a tester of some sort!

I suppose once you do this mod, there's no going back to stock without new headlight housings, right?

Of course you can go back, you just have to replace everything you modified with the stock parts.

It's a matter of testing the wires. I CAN tell you, that the middle wire (which should be black) is the ground. After that, it's just a matter of turning on your low beams, putting one end of your test light (or DMM) to a ground point on the car, and the other end to the wire you want to test. If it lights up, then THAT wire is the low-beam wire. And I'm 99.99999% sure I don't have to tell you what the other wire does...

But if you REALLY need any extra assistance, let me know. I can probably walk you through each step if you want. PM me.
