fuel system

wats up guys. im posting this for my friend that i sold my VE to.

well before i sold it to him, we changed an injector. i think that is #2. it is the one in front of the car and in the middle. the reason why we changed it because the car was running real bad. putting and had a whole lot of loss in power. we pulled the plug to that injector and no change in the way the car was running. we pulled the plugs on the injectors on each side of it and the car ran worse. so we figured that was the problem. the car ran beautiful after we changed the injector. it was hard to sell it after we fixed it. now he has had the car for about 5 days now. on saturday night, 3 days after he picked it up, he started to get the same problem along with a really bad smell. it seemed to be the same injector acting up again. he says that the car dies on him now at stop signs and lights.

any help guys? what could cause this injector to go bad? i feel bad about selling my boy this car and its starting to act up on him. thanks.

Re: fuel system

I dont really know too much about the injectors but the bad smell is usually a bad O2 sensor. My car was running bad when my 02 sensor needed to be changed it lost power and cut off frequently. You could give that a try. Hopes it helps a little.

Did you buy all new o-rings for the replacement injector? Fuel could be leaking around the injector and into the cylinder. You DID use some Vasaline on the 0-rings to prevent them from pinching/binding right?

well we took the car to the dealer and they said we are getting low compression in cylinder #2. it is at about 20 and the others are good. he said that we have to take the head off and replace the piston. if the piston is cracked, we might as well get a new engine. what i dont understand is that the car was running bad, we changed #2 injector then the car was back to normal. a couple of days later the car was running the same. so did a new injector help the piston for a couple of days for some reason. if the piston is the problem, why did the car run better with a new injector for a couple of days. we are gonna try and the work ourselves. never done it before, but there is a first time for everything. just in case the piston is cracked, where can i get a VE30DE engine? thanks for help guys.
