Re: rims wo/ drop

you'll probably have a wheel gap, matters on what size tires you get also. I'm sure someone has a picture on here to give you an idea of what it looks like.

I dont have any pictures but around here I am the only lowered maxima but I see tons of chrome 17s and 18s on 3rd gens. I dont like how it looks (chrome or not lowered) because thats not my taste but a lot of people dont care so its up to you.

If you cant do them both right now then do one or the other. Then save up and do whatevers left from what you decided. If you just dont want the car lowered and you want wheels then get them.

I do know that a lowered car and stock SE wheels dont look too bad because mine was like that (It was lowered when I got it) until I got wheels.

Here is something to consider too. The 4th gens came factory with 16s and they looked fine (a little high but...) and the 5th gens come with 16s and 17s and they arent lowered and look fine too. I think you may actually have less wheel gap with the factory 3rd gens than the 4th and 5th gens.

I think any car with nice wheels, but huge gap looks pretty silly. I would get suspension first, then wheels.

Well, MY car has 17's and only Spring springs on the back (it snowed like a **** before I could put the front ones on...). You MIGHT get some kind of idea how it looks if you look at my webpage because I have a pic of the front wheel on it. All I gotta say is pretty much what Lordrandall said...

Re: Re: rims wo/ drop

you mean sprint springs? no offense but that must look aweful, why didnt you have them put on at the same time? i would say put on your springs first, so when you do finally get your wheels it will look complete, and the reason why the 5th gens with 17s look fine is because they are probably running 50 or 55 series tires, if they had 40 or 45 series tires then the gap would look horrible. that is why they are able to fit large wheels with no problem becuse they can still go 2 sizes down on the aspect ratio without a problem. a rule of thumb is that for every inch you are increacing your wheels the aspect ratio will drop down 5% as long as they wheels are the same width. for ex. 225-45-17, 225-40-18, 225-35-19

yeah thanks man. i mean it aint wheel gap like a hummer h2 but it aint no bmw or lambo either. the wheel/tire diameter are the same as stock so the wheel gap should be the same as stock so i thought it looked ok

Re: Re: Re: Re: rims wo/ drop

im just messin with you, but yeah your right about the diameter being the same but thats when the optical illusion plays a role because there is less tire and more rim so the gap actually looks larger than if you had your stock wheels/tires on

yeah I would go with the springs first, it' gonna be lot cheaper too so then you can save up for your wheels or, plus your car will look not too bad lowered with the stock wheels.

If I remember correctly from reading other posts you can but you lose the adjustable part. It becomes just a regular suspension.

adjustable part doesn't really matter to me, i was just wondering if it messed up anything or if you have to alter something to do it
