Well, to make a long story short, im locked out of my trunk. the key i have doesnt work in the lock. i just got this car on saturday. ive had a couple people suggest that i have the vallet key so it wont work on the truck. does anyone know anything bout this or if maxs ever came with em??

also, i just got a Sony Add On CD player to hook up to my Bose reciever cause the one in there doesnt work. anyways, what do i have to take off the get to that section. its the space right under the radio reciever. from the factory is the pull out drawer thingie, i think. and if anyone else has done this, i could use some tips too.

 

well is the head of the kee small or big

 

the valet key had a head on it about the size of a regular key, but coated in red plastic. Can't find mine right now or I'd post a pic of it. Try your key in the glove box, the valet key won't lock/unlock it.

 

yea the valet key is red on the end, and its not supposed to open the trunk even though mine does.... but if your locked out of your trunk theres a button on the drivers door to open it, but if you have that swtich disabled then i dunno wwhat to tell you. use one of your other keys...

 

if your max has keyless entry then you can pop the trunk with the key that says trunk. or like he said the button on the inside of the door

 

Another option is to go to a dealer that has or can order they key. They can match by key number.

 

To open your trunk push the button on the dor, if it's disabled than you can go to a lock smith and they may be able to fabricate a key or at least open the trunk for you.
I lost my keys and the lock smith fabricated a key right on the spot, I don't know how they do that.

As for the center console to remove it just take out the ash trey and behind it on the opening there are two screws taht hold the pannel in place remove them, the one on the left is a bit hidden. The top of the pannel will pop of just carefully pry it out with a screw driver. Wrap the screw driver with a soft cloth not to damage the interior. The back of the pannel has some plugs on it remove them carefully and proceed with what ever you want to do.

 

No valet key here. I did check out that button that is supposed to be on the driver side door and it wasnt there. i took it to a locksmith any they opened it and made a new key. they said it wasnt working because the key i had was so worn down. he said the locks (driver, passenger and trunk) were really corroded, probably due to the fact it has keyless entry. it took em bout 30mins and cost $15, not too bad. the keyless entry i have is not from the factory. its a 'code alarm' and it has a button for trunk release, but it doesnt work.

Jeff, the trunk release on a 91 se isn't on the door. It's on the floor in between teh drivers seat and the door. It's the same lever that opens the gas door, up for trunk down for gas door
