Paint Job Suggestions

Hey guys, it's been a while since I was on here since I wrecked the Max. But, she's being fixed up with a couple little goodies in store . At any rate, I need to get her into the shop for paint before the end of spring break. I was deciding on a couple of different paint jobs when I saw Chris' alpine white with the blue pearl . So, here's what I was thinkin about...

- black with red pearl
- black pearl
- or just plain old super black

Let me know what you guys think would be the best or could recommend anything shinier and blacker...

Is yours black to begin with? If so, you could probably get away with a deep cherry metallic or a really dark metallic purple(ie.. old corrado color) Or a really deep metallic gray would be nice.

There is not much better than a straight body car with a good solid black paint job because it looks so deep. With that being said I always like to be different and a dark grey pearl or black pearl (not sure if that exists but I dont know that much about paint) would look great. I would stay away from a red or blue pearl on black. It may look great but I can visualize it looking that good.

I was actually thinking of doing a dark blue / black color....trying to incorporate maybe some of the mystic blue, or even laguna seca blue, off the new M3's, with a deep black pearl....mmmmmm

Black pearl metallic was a color Nissan... er... rather... Datsun released in '78 for a limited production run of 280Zs. They were the first Zs ever to come in black and Datsun used them to guage interest in adding black to the available colors for the Z.

Here's the link should any of you want to read more about it.

the new 350z has a black with maroon pearl or the maroon with a black pearl and it was gorgeous. I think it would look really tight on a maxima.

Is that what you're talking about??? Cause if it is, their official name for it is brickyard.

hard to tell in the pic but it definetly looks good. I saw a black 67 Chevelle at a show one time that won best paint. That car was the straightest car I had ever seen and it looked like you could reach into the car because the black looked so deep.

On black I wouldnt go with pearl I would go with a metallic black from California House of Colors, if your body shop has one of there books you can get some good ideas, but the paint is like $800 more than like PPG paint, but if you see a color the body shop can probably give you something close to it.
