Alternator fix question..........

Alternator went out on me and now I am going to go up to my local auto parts store and pick one up. I have two options and going about this: One, I go and get it and I try to do it myself or Two, I get the alternator and give it to my school and let them do it. If I take option one, how long will it take to do, how do you actually replace it and where is it on the car, and knowing that I not very good with my engine work, will it be easy enough for me to do????

spend a little more time looking.. took me 15 seconds to find it.

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=128490

that thread has this link in it:
http://www.4dsc.com/articles/

when you get there, click on drivetrain..
it'll pop right up.

amazing, isn't it?

I see. I had made it that far before but I didn't know where to go from there but thanks for the constructive criticism.

The alternator is easy. And did mine over two years ago and it was my first ever car repair. I followed the directions, did rush myself, and did it right the first time.
