Car polishing

I have a quick question about washing my '93 SE. I have the gold finish and its not as shiny as it should be. I am first going to wash it with dish soap to strip the wax and then I would like to use a clay bar, then polish and then wax it. My question is which clay bar, polish and wax do people recommend for their max? Thanks for any advice.

I didnt use the clay bar but have heard a lot of good things about it.

I did however use the Meguiar's 3 step system. It was a lot of work but man was my car beautiful afterwords. I know Mothers makes the 3 step system too but the local stores here only had the Meguiar's.

I am pleased but it took all day to do.

wash, use the cleaner, the polish, then the wax. Add in the clay bar for you and you will definately have a sore arm when you are finished.

good luck.

i used the clay bar on my max but forgot what its called but when i was done the felt and looked like it was waxed and polished. the paint felt really smooth after i was done with the clay bar. i had 3 of my friends do this on my car includin' myself to finish it up quicker.

i use 3M perfect it polish to get the crud off w/ foam pad.
top if off with machine glaze and finish with a good quality wax.
