sea saw power loss?
Hello All
I appreciate any suggestions with a problem I'm having.
Senario:
- On highway, ushally going uphill under light acceleration.
- In 3rg Gear at about 2100 k
Problem:
Power begins to "sea saw", not alot (only 100 rpm or so), but feels like something is slipping?
This never happens under heavy acceleration. I had the tranny rebuilt in Sept 02. No problems since. I also have been leaking antifreeze somewhere near the front right tire. I brought the car to Strause and they said it was the water pump. I purchased the water pump, timing belt and thermostat(no heat problem on highways in the cold weather) from alloemparts.com and am going to have them replaced on friday.
Any ideas on what might be causing the power loss?

How quickly does it seesaw? is it like every second, few seconds, or just once in a while? By seesaw I assume you mean it is fluctuating between 2200rpm and 2000rpm back and forth. The torque convertor will tighten up depending on the load although usually at high speeds it should be locked. However my tach will fluctuate a little when going up a hill. Also you need to give some more details on your car. Model, engine, year, mileage, etc...
