Should be just the fuel filler tube. Does the shroud around the tube look like it's been messed with??

Sorry to jack your thread, but how do you know what recalls have been completed on your car, and what recalls it's up for? Do I just go to Nissan and ask them?

call your local dealer and give them the vin number of the car. They will tell you the recalls for your car and if any have already been done.

as far as the original post goes. It isnt something you will see on the outside of the car. lay down under the car by the fuel filler and see if the tube going from the filler to the tank has been replaced.

i figured if he didnt notice that than he needed to get down on the ground to look at the actuall tube. Cant I make someone get a little dirty and check the underside of their car ?

They gave me the same run-around about 2 months ago on my '89. First they said it was a recall, then they said it wasn't. Then, they said they had to order a manual from California to get shipped here before the knew anything, then they said I had to come in and get pix taken of it to send off...neverending. But, I sold it without getting it replaced, so now I don't worry about it.
