window problems

i'm pulling in the driveway to my house and back the car in....the car is put in drive, the system is turned off, and i try to roll up the windows.....all the windows WON'T roll up except the driver's side window.....my 1st thought is that the window lock button is pressed, its not....i literally sit there for about 10 mins trying to get my windows to roll up!! Eventually one by one, they roll up....anyone know what might be the cause of this problem so i can get it fixed..This is not the first time this has happened though, once while riding, i tried rolling up the back windows and they rolled up, but when the completely closed, they rolled right back down by themselves. Seems like the car is posessed or sumthing..help or advice would be appreciated though...thanks fam!!

called window regulators i.e. motor. very very common problem with our model cars. they end up dying, window wont roll up. i've replaced 3, so far. pretty much like a rotation. drivers went, drivers side rear, passenger side rear, and finaly the front passenger is going. For reference dont go to the dealership to get these done. i went for the first one, bam 200 bucks. 2nd time around bought a new part from the company did it my self....simple enough.

This guy has a great web page, tells how to do it along with pictures. Regulators run about $60 each. Click on How To and its in the 2nd row down on the left.

no disrespect, and i appreciate the feedback, but i know of the window regulator problem and this is not the case....the windows roll up sporadically, when they feel like it....take for instance today....i'm going to work...windows are down, when i get to work, they won't roll up at first...eventually they did, but i had to use the window buttons on the doors themselves and not the buttons on the drivers door (hope i'm not confusing anyone)!! anyhow, i leave work to come home today, windows are down and when i get home, windows roll up with no problems...i'm baffled here...if its the regulators, they wouldn't roll up at all or not all the way and you would still here the motor working right......well when my windows won't roll up, the motor doesn't even come on, its as if the window lock is on, but its not!!!

Try replacing the main switch in the drivers side door. I had a similar problem and that did the trick. The switch new is about $125 new from the nissan dealership or a lot cheaper from the junk yard. Keep us posted.

That's exactly what it is. Mine did the same thing - acted demon posessed at times. I even had one that would sometimes work - backwards, until total failure. Pay the 125.00...it'll fix your problem.

iknow some of yall have been here for a while but just thought id mention more often that not it is the mechanism on the window regulator that gets stuck and broken not the actual motor. if you have to buy the whole assembly from the dealer its about 220 and 130-140 for the fram with the rotating mechanism. Once you take off the doorpanel it is easier to understand what needs to be replaced. I have had to do repairs on three of my doors and all three times it was not the motor that needed to be replaced just other part(sorry unsure of correct term) look online there is a seller in arizona who sells the whole package oem compatible for under 75 bucks. although he charged 15 bucks for shipping crosstown its still lot cheaper than dealership ..as for you problem with it automatically rolling down. make sure none of the parts are loose internally or replace main switchboard at drivers side.

Easy there partner. Your local nissan dealer is rapping your wallet for the regulator. My local nissan dealership charged be $69.99 for the regulator and $200-280(I don't remember how much) for the motor.
