Fuel Gauge

My fuel stays on full all day, comes down once a day if I'm lucky. Is this a common problem like the dead in-dash clock? Anyone else experience this problem.

Need a little more info. Not exactly sure what you're trying to say. I think I understand, just want to make sure.

No problem. My fuel gauge registers passed full. It only comes down to tell me how much gas I have about once a day, or sometimes once every 2 days.

My '91 registers full for about 20 miles after I fill it then drops quickly. It was down to 1/4 tank after only 170 miles! When I filled it it only took 8.5 gallons. Is this a common problem with the 3rd gen Maximas?

well mine fills up full then drops quick to about half and then starts going down slower and slower as i use more gas. Also i can drop the needle well below empty before re-filling. I try not to do that though because my gas light doesnt work
