I have an 89 maxima with 224k on it(bought it with 212k, the previous owner did a lot of driving on the freeway and I drive back and foward to school everyday) anyway. Anyway, I was wondering if there were any parts I could replace to extend the life of the engine. Or should I buy a used engine from a junkyard? If so how much would one usually go for?

 

like what? just keep it oiled and take care of it and it should last you a long time. There's some guy here with 500k+ miles on his original engine

I hear you, just wanted to see what was an average price for a used engine give or take.

 

500k on the original engine? That's GOT to be a record! I knew these engines were strong, but 500k?
