the other day i was leaving my house and went to go into reverse. Well i popped it into reverse and it wont go reverse. The reverse lights are on but it wont go in reverse. When i place it in neutral it goes forward. Drive, 1st, and second gear go forward also. When its in drive and i go to put it in park it lurches forward then goes into park. Whats wrong????? i took off the linkage and attempted to manually shift it to reverse but it still wouldnt move. The lights are on but its sitting in place. I cant figure out whats wrong and i dont have a lot of money right now as im a high school student. Its not the tranny fluid. The tranny fluid is fine. Does anyone have any insight for me?????? It would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like it's gonna cost lots of money. Try taking it to Maaco, they have free transmission checkup's although it is usually only a quick check that doesn't involve opening the tranny up. Maybe they can find something obvious.
