My first mod. (a hood bar)

Well I now no longer have a truly unmodified 94 gxe. I built and installed a hood bar because I am too cheap to replace the hood holders. behold the crappy jop I did:

That's it. I think the arrows are the best part.

whell what do yall think, is it good, or is it crap?

It has caused no problems to the hood. I put a soft tip on it, and plus the hood is not that weak. unless someone tried to push down against it it wouldn't do anything.

and matt, #3 is understandable. I've been putting dumb stuff all over the forums for a while now.

sure no one can push down against it...but mother nature isn't all that friendly at times...just one gush of wind...

One thing you may want to consider is that over time, the sheer weight of the hood itself may cause a 'dimple' to appear on that point of the hood.

If you look at any stock hood bar, you'll notice that the bar isn't straight. It has a bend that makes it look something like this:

|
|
______/
/
|
|
|

Just make sure that the top part doesn't actually poke the hood, and it should work perfectly.

*EDIT*
Sorry, I can't get it to show up right, I hope you guys know what I'm talking about.

Good work on doing something to fix the problem, but I think hood struts give it a more dignified feel... more luxury-esque.
