I've got a 93 SE 5spd with the VE30DE engine in it....

I brought my car to the self serve car wash 2 weeks ago, and when I pulled it out of the bay, it felt like I was starting it in third gear. The idle runs around 500 rpm, and when coasting to a stop, it drops down to 100-200, and then comes back to 500.

I brought it in to the shop, and they think it's one of the three fuel injectors in the rear, but wanted $400 (5 hrs of labor) to pull off the intake manifold to check them for me. They checked the front three, and said they were fine.

I was going to pull off the intake and check the rear three myself, but I keep thinking that if it quit working at the car wash, it must be moisture in the electrical somewhere. Then it rained last night, and now the car won't even start!

I found another post where it was the O2 sensor and wire getting pinched or something, but he had just installed the WSP Y-pipe, and I have stock exhaust.

Any ideas?

well if it started after that car wash it would lead me to believe that it's possible that you got some moisture where it's not supposed to be.

since you just have the y-pipe done i would verify the O2 sensor.

They dont have to remove the intake manifold to check the resistance of the three rear injectors! There is a subharness on the left side of the intake manifold. It's got four pins, one is a common positive for all three injectors, and the other three pins are the grounds for the three injectors.
