Holy Hell - Urgent Problem

Yea so bad things have happened. My car runs fine in park and neutral. When i put in gear it quickly fluctuates between 500 and 1500 rpm then sputteres to a death. I drove it this morning from houe a to house b no problem but when i came out the car was screwy. Any ideas here. The tranny hasn't shown any signs of death till now....what's up!??!?! Ahhh. Haha. -Kane
