buying a 90SE maxi

hey guys, I am an alti onwer (from altimas.net) and my friend is buying a 90 Maxi SE. I tried to inspect the car a little bit, and things looked as following:

The engine bay is dirty, and it definitely needs some TLC. brakes function good, and I have noticed some rust on the door sides, which is normal in Indiana... exhaust manifold (bottom) part is a little rusty due to the snow.... I heard some *squicking* sound from the engine bay, sounds like the belt needs to be replaced...

Is there anything else I need to notice about (tranny, engine wise)? I mean, I tried to apply my alti knowledge into the maxi, but it isn't enough... so any advice will be great!

1990 Maxi SE, Black, 11xxxx miles, automatic...

thanks a lot guys.

It's a VG, there's really no big issue you should look for. Just your normal wear and tear.

-axles (CV boots and what not)
-steering rack
-any leaks
-belts
-if it hasn't already timing belt changed is a good idea (also gives your friend an excuse to get a UDP)
-suspension
-motor mounts

So on and so forth... the VGs are bulletproof so like I said before, just look for normal wear and tear.

yeah, that's what I figured... the VG is nice... but the car does need some TLC, and my friend and I gonna work on that to make it at least nice and shinny, clean engine bay. and we will start from there...

Thanks for the advice Dark Lord Bunny
