1994 not starting

My 1994 GLE Max does not like rain it seem. For about a year, maybe two, my car has be acting wierd. If it rains or there is a high amount of moisture in there air and I let the car sit for two days (don't drive it much on weekends) the car does not start. If I let it sit out in the sun (after the rain) the car would start right up. This weekend however, it rain for like three days and now the car will not start up at all. I have good battery power, starter and alternator are fine. What could be causing this problem?

Side note: the car also has loud ticking noise (for about three years) coming from the front bottom engine area of the engine. One tech told me it sounded like a bearing and that the engine needed to be replaced. That was about two years ago. Any ideas?

How old is the Batt. If its at least 3 yr old then it could be the problem. You can get it tested for free at autozone or some of those other places (pepboys?).

Thanks, water was getting into the dist cap. They did a major tune-up and I had them change timing belt. The service man said the ticking was not a major problem and the car should last another 75k miles.
Nice car.
