Stereo rattling something in the roof

Turning my stereo up loud (on songs w/ bass) makes something rattle behind my moonroof. I can press up on the ceiling really hard and it will stop. It doesn't make a difference whether the moon roof is open or closed, or whether the cloth shade part is open or closed.

Could this be something with the moonroof track? Everything works fine.

if you got a sun roof check the clips that hold metal rail on the track down they go bad and you might need to replace em.

I know when I have the bass in my system up loud and the roof is open, I can hear the long metal piece were the roof slides into in the front when closing rattle, kinda sucks but I am more worried about keeping my trink from rattling. When you have to 12's in the trunk and you turn the bass up, it vibrates and rattles the whole trunk. It's no good

Keep an eye on our sunroof. I need a new Hu so my bass isn't that bad right now, but my boy has three 12's in a 98 Honda Accord and his sunroof has been known to get off track from the bass and not close at all.

No 12"-er's for me. I've got a dinky Pioneer headunit tied into the stock Bose system. However, since the rear speakers point directly up and reflect off the back glass, they produce very long waves. That's why it's low enough to rattle the sunroof parts. Doubt it will knock it off track though.

No, I don't, but I should look into getting something like that. What is it, how much and where do you get?

You can buy quality material like this one:

I purchased 4 sheets for like $60 and I was able to cover my trunk, trunk lid, and the entire car's floor. I am very satisfied with it.

Hope this helps.

update:

i took every piece out of my sunroof possible. there are no clips that hold the track to anything. i did, however, tighten everything up and re-adjust my shims (be careful if you this... make sure it doesn't strain the motor when you open it as the shims change the shape of the guide rails a little). everything is perfect now. i think.

ps to someone who asked a while back whether the sun shade clips go around or inside the track: it's "around" meaning that the black clip hugs the alum. rail (and not the clips going between the alum. rails)
