Fuel Injection Problems! Help anyone?!?
Fuel Injection Problems! Help anyone?!?
I have a question that I really could use some advice on.
My ‘94 Maxima GXE has really been driving rough over the past several weeks (I sent an email about a week ago concerning this), and I recently took it to a shop to have a diagnostic done on it. The results indicated that I have 3 shot fuel injector’s. My other 3 injectors are up to specs. The diagnostic also showed other problems, but my injectors are of my main concern.
My question is this: The shop is suggesting that I replace all 6 injectors (I can’t afford to pay the price they’re suggesting I pay for the parts & labor), I want to know if I were to only replace the 3 shot injectors, would that cause more damage to my Maxima down the road? Or should I replace all six injectors as suggested?
My other question is: I’m thinking about ordering the parts myself (instead of having Pep Boys order them for me) because I figure they’ll mark up their price on them. Should I go to a whole seller or a junk yard to get my parts (used)?
Any advice???

If you are paying for Labor I would definately replace all six. I did work myself and 2 months after replacing one, another failed. Being chaep I only replaced the bad one again, 15 months have passed and so far so good but I know it is only a matter of time.
I ordered all 6 from directauto.com and were all rebuilt, been about six months now and they work great so far. They also include a lifetime warranty on them. They were 40 bucks a piece. Took me about 1.5 hours to install them.
