Hi guys!

I have a 91 GXE w/192.000kms (about 120.000 miles) that I bought used not too long ago. I also have a 01 Protege, but we needed a second car and I always liked 3rd gen Maxis. I noticed this week that when the car is warmed-up and driving at any speed below 60km/h (35mph?), it will sometime rev to 4000RPMs without any pick-up, as if the clutch was fully depressed, as on a 5spd. Again, this car is an A/T. I release the gas for 2-3 seconds and press on it again and it picks up - the tranny engages and powers the car.

I have an appt tomorrow morning at a local Nissan dealer that will run a diagnostic on it. I've done a little research on this problem and it could be a friction band, shift solenoids, etc...

Does anyone have a clue what it is/could be?
Has anyone experinced this?
Any good tranny shops in Toronto?
