Headers

I know this question has been asked 100 times, but the search engine is disabled...

Are there any headers made for a 3rd Gen GXE? I could have sworn there weren't, but some idiots i've been talking too insist that there are.

Thanks

well not yet but supposedly pace setter is making some but I highly doubt it will ever come out and even if they do I wouldnt put them on my car because of the quality.

Here is a link if you want to see them

Well , We'll have to wait n see how the pace setter go. But they r taking too long to make one however and I dont know if they'll come out or so. I wud rather SEE pace setter headers on DYNO SLIP. I doubt it none of this will happen.

Pace Setter is not a company to rely on, they make mony things for Honda's and Acura's and they never have good things to say about them. Just get a y-pipe from www.warpspeedperformance.com and this will make a difference for sure!

not to mention look at the pics if you see the ypipe that comes with that pacesetter headers it looks like it was made to be sold in the dollar store. Look at the flex section. well lets just say if you get these your sure to be "the buzz" in your town. Literally. Get the warpspeed setup for sure the y pipe was prolly the best mod i did so far.

Thats actually the funny thing about it. Look at the pic again...it doesnt have a flex section its just solid pipe. You need a flex section on a fwd car because of the movement of the motor so thats not a very good design. Of course below the pic it says "Sample shown. Actual model will vary." so who knows if the actually make it if they will have a flex section or not.

I agree that you should go ahead with the warpspeed y but just wanted to show you that the guy wasnt completely stupid and there might be a set of headers for the 3rd gen one day.

Just so you know it has said TBA on that page for a long time...I ran across it several months ago from a post on here. I know it was sometime last year but not sure when.

Eventually they prolly will make headers for our car but if the picture of the sample model is any indication of the quality then i dont think i would want to purchase it. Besides i think our factory headers are designed pretty well and i believe the y pipe is the biggest bottleneck of the exhaust system. i'm not trying to say the guy is completely stupid or anything as headers would be a great addition to the lineup of mods for our car. In fact when i first saw it i wanted to get that thing real bad until i noticed the y pipe w/o a flex section and read more about it on the org. So i was giving him the heads up like others gave me about things and nothing more.

no man I wasnt saying you were calling anyone stupid. In the original post fenix said that some "idiot" told him that they made headers for our cars. I assumed he called the guy an idiot because he didnt think they made headers for the car and wanted to show the guy that he wasnt 100% wrong.

Just wanted to clear that up because I wasnt accusing you of calling anyone stupid lol.

and I agree with you about the Y being the bottle neck on our cars.

they list them for the Max, but they only have a 2.5" collector, but a 1.5" tubing diameter, ummmm, bottle neck affect??

no thats probably about what it should be. I know you would think it would be a bottle neck but in high HP apps I have seen larger primary say 1 7/8" or 2" tubes dump into only say a 3" collector and gain HP.

I think on my car I had some cheapy headers that were 1 5/8 primary tubes and I got a good set of Hooker super comps which I think were 1 7/8 or 2" and still had a 3" collector. I picked up a lot more power with the bigger primary tubes even with sticking with the 3" collector.

Of course with that being said...its still Pace setter and I dont think I would want to spend that much on a set of headers unless it was just for show or something. For performance I think I would stick with a WSP Y pipe.

whoops you're right I'm reading it backwards...I was thinking 2.5" primaries into a 1.5" collector (bigger into smaller)
