I need some help here,
Every time i give it gas while driving the car sounds like a old volkswagon dielse sound.
The car will not make that noise if i rev it in park.
If anyone has had that problem please say so, i don't want mechanics fixing things that might not even be the cause.................

its probably not the engine then. maybe trans? i dunno. if u say its only when driving it the makes the noise, and not in park. then its something else than the engine.

 

Exhaust Manifold.

Mine did that as well. Could rev as much as i wanted in park, but as soon as put into gear would get some rattling sound.

It has progresesd to the ponit where now in park it does it as well as in drive and running. Any time over about 1200rpm it makes the clattering

we are almost possitive that its the ear exhause manifold

Yes, engine is running nice, i definetly have good accelaration,
it's when i accelerate that it makes that noise............

 

I thought so ........the noise is coming from underneath the car...

Had a Muffler Expert Mechanic take a look at it and he said it's not coming from the exhaust system, he feels the noise is coming from the ed transmission (5sp), car has 209,875 miles ( mint cond ) and the tranny has never been touched, good run and still full of power might i say,but the noise is becoming loud on hard acceleration.....anyway, any idea how much to open up for minor surgery?.....
