cleaning injectors and coils

i read that you can clean your ignition coils and injectors. could anyone who's done it/had it done give me some more info? what would you be cleaning out of an ignition coil anyway?

which part did i read wrong? you can have your injectors cleaned, right? maybe he just cleaned the connections on his coils.
