Bose CD Player

Hey all... I'm just wondering if it's more economical to just add the factory Bose CD deck to the tape deck or just to replace the whole shot?

Also, if you were to replace the stock head unit with say... a nice Alpine deck, would you have to replace the speakers (or rewire, if possible?) since they are amped? I've always been told that amplified signal through an amplifier = bad joo joo.

FYI, I have 2 Kappa 6*9's for the back if it's indeed cheaper to replace the whole shot.

Thanks
