Okay, i know this isnt the best race, but im pretty happy about it. it was my first real race with my max. its kind long, but its good.

I was coming out of Bakers, after i went to lunch with my gf, and I notice this Focus ZX3 in front of me. I think I started to salivate at the thought of taking this focus down. I get behind him at a light, and just like I thought he started gettin on it again, weaving through traffic. We get ahead of traffic and catch the next light. He revs at me. It sounded pretty good, I must admit. I didnt bother revving at him. The light turns great and I launch, tires spinning up pretty bad. I had to feather it a little. The roads were kinda wet/damp (usually I think racing when streets are like that is pretty stupid, but I gotta take what I can get, especially when I cant get anyone to look twice at me for a race) I start pullin on him at the end of 1st. Shift to second and think 'its gonna be a blood bath' Hes now at my back bumper and by the end of second I see him in my rear view. 3rd, more of the same. 4th I let off; Ive proved my point. He eventually catches up and passes me, at least he didnt do 'the flyby'. We catch the next light so I rev at him . He doesnt respond. Haha. He takes off from the light, I didnt because I didnt think he wanted anymore. I think 'what the hey', by now im in second, so I punch it down and catch up to him. Now weve caught up to some traffic and I back off and let him in my lane. I try to get him to go to a gas station so I could talk to him, but he wasnt in the mood to talk.

All of this with a Runza cup between my legs! Damn Nissan for no cupholders!

This focus had exhaust done. Thats all I could tell from just lookin at it. He also had an 'Atchely Performace' stick on the back. That had to add like 10hp. It was also a 5spd.

Stock numbers 130HP and 135ft/lbs torque wieghing 2500lbs!
Still trying to find 1/4mi times for it.

 

Focus's are starting to get the same "performance" part coverage as Honda's! I like them a lot better than the new Civics! a 4 door jet black w/ the Sony system isn't bad at all, plus there are plenty of mods to get them in the 200hp range according to a local performce shop around my way, if I were to "downgrade" to a 2000 or 2001 "econo-box" that I could mod out, I get a Focus, since Civics are way too played out!

 

Thats what i was thinking when i pulled up to it. i know theres a big aftermarket for it already. it was hard to say what was actually modded under the hood. all i know is that it wasnt nearly enough to beat the old VG.

 

My father wanted me to get a focus but I declined because max,s are so much better all around!

 

we have a 2000 focus ZX3 as our show car at work. its factory painted yellow. We put in custom leather, TV's in the headrests, VCR, ASC spoiler sunroof, heated seats, massaging seats, power lumber, and more that I cant think of. Next in line are 18's and ground effects. We don't do anything performance yet but I think we're going to start installing bolt on stuff.
