BMW Headlights

I finally got BMW headlights they look amazing, it took less than two hours to install them using the factory bmw brackets, Damion did most of the work installing them, they were originally on his car, they look amazing, i'm gonna put up some pics asap.

Thanks a million Damion !!!

Only car in Nova Scotia Canada with Beamer lights

I should have the pics up shortly, I don't know if they'll help, I'll take some better ones in the day. This is basically what we did(well Damion did lol) Removed the factory lights. Did the wiring the same as the other write-ups, banged a little bit of metal out of the way here and there, and then bolted them into place with makeshift brackets. I'll try and do a better write-up later. Hope this helps i'm workin on pics.

Yeah, I don't think it took much longer than that, but I was lucky, Damion already had them in his car and he marked them so it was really easy to get them in. I know the pics I posted suck, I need to take better ones when I get a chance.

SIX HOURS??

I only took about 3 hours myself... And like Rick said, I hope you didn't have to cut into your radiator support.

Well, it took me like 6 to 8 hours also. I did a lot of cutting but it was all to the factory headlight bracket. The bulk of the time went to adjusting the lights and homemade brackets to sit as close to flush as possible and have the correct beam pattern.

Man! Y'all some slow-@$$es!! What were you all doing? Driving to Bavaria for the headlights? J/K

But yeah, it didn't take me long to do the install, but aligning them... THAT is a different story altogether.

Do it! Just make sure you get the ones with halos. I haven't seen to many of them.

Wow, I think the next mod to my car is going to be the headlights.

What bulbs are you guys using with those lights? 9006's? H1's? H7's?

You'll need 9005's and 9006's, as it's a 2-light deal. I started with Sylvania Silverstar's, but I bought some XD5's from Ebay on a whim to use as replacements in case the Sylvanias blew. Once I tried those...

I won't even go back! IMO, the difference is night and day, LITERALLY!! prinzII (who has an 02 SE w/factory HID's) saw 'em in person and was so impressed with how similar they are in brightness to his HID's, that he 'convinced' me to get him a pair.

Plus, I got another friend here locally that has a new Sube WRX and his compares to mine as well.

Ok, I'll get off my

You have the stock plastic e36 ones, not the ellipsoid or zkw lenses then, right? I am probably going to get the ellipsoid (projector) ones and run some halogens and maybe consider upgrading to HID's (I doubt it though, the beam pattern on a regular reflected BMW/Hella lens is pretty damn good).

Do you have pictures of your beam pattern and headlights at night by chance?

You highly doubt that they fit? Well, check this out!

I'm just trying to find out which projectors he used? I'm kinda tired of the E36's, because everyone is starting to do them. Don't get me wrong, the E36's look bad as hell, but, I want to be different and start with something else.

wtF! how did you guys do it so fast!? it took me like 4 weekends and a total of about 20 hours! but thats from start to finish with alignment. but still. it took me about 3 hours just to get the car cut and the stock bmw bracket cut.

and i was meaning to post them up but i made some home made 9004 to 9005/9006 adapters. saves cutting the stock one off.

also, does anyone have a problem with the lights as far as beam pattern. i get like two really bright spots in the pattern. if i point them low, you can see like two round dots.

You should "mass produce" these adapters! I'm sure you'd make quite a lot of money.

no one that has cut their harness is gonna cut it back to splice back in the stock harness so you can plug in the new harness, andhe newbies are cut happy so imsure theylll just use raw wires to see if the lights work(j/k).

the smart way to do it is to strip the wiring back and solder the new harness in place, then tape it up(can't get the heat shrink on there w/o cutting the wires. this way you have both the oe harness and the e36 harness, with a solid connection for both. i just cut mine off, but this would have been better

I used these m/f wire connectors that tap into the oem harness. That way if I go back to stock or sell the car I can still use the OEM plug for the OEM headlights.

btw, i cant show you how it looks on the 9004 side cause i filled it up with silicone but ill draw on the picture how it was done.
