CAI intake question

I know you are supposed to cut a hole in the wheel well area for the air filter to go out, but doesnt in scrape against the wheel when you turn or go over bumps? can someone post pictures?

The filter is still separated from the wheel by the wheel well lining. The filter is located in front of the wheel right behind the bumper. As shown in this drawing as a blue box. This is all the info I have since I have not done the installation myself yet.

The CAI also comes with a lining to fit over the metal to keep the tube from getting scratched and to prevent rust. Once installed the fit is pretty solid.

I'm a so the install was difficult and time consuming.

Yes, I used a 3 1/2 in hole saw but it left rough edges and when I filed them down there are some re-enforced areas under the wheel well that began separating and made it difficult to install the rubber lining.
