Installed a new front engine mount from NISSAN today (i get free labor for a while from a friend who is a manager at SPEEDY Auto service because he owes me some $$), but before i had the NISSAN mount installed, My friend said that he could get me a "Non-NISSAN aftermarket mount" for cheaper... i said no because i would never use non OEM parts for THIS reason...
...To make a long story short(yeah right!!), he said theres no difference between the two, we argued, we tested both mounts and i won the argument hands down after that...
Here's the difference: (i will try to get pictures to show comparison)
(First, visually you can see the NISSAN mount is ALOT "meatier" and the rubber used is comparable to urathane, The rubber from the "non-Nissan" mount is actually almost "sqwushy" to the touch.)
-Nissan mount, "no engine play, perfect fittment, eliminated any vibrations i had whatsoever, Overall PERFECT!
-The "OTHER" mount, "more engine play then old mount, bad fittment, horrible vibration when in "Drive" and even worse when the A/C is on, ...Etc... need i say more??"
Price difference: about $20 bucks...
...Moral of the (long) story, USE FACTORY REPLACMENT PARTS unless it is a performance issue then go with QUALITY names, Do research, get reviews, cause you get what you pay for with almost every thing in life and it will save you from that stress that comes from thouse "problems that you come across, that nobody can figure out"...
...Now just imagine if i replaced my front mount with the "aftermarket" one, would i ever have thought to try a NISSAN mount next or would i have started changing tons of parts for nothing?? now which mount is actually cheaper in the long run should be the real question?? and i know i TALK TO MUCH!! SO!?!

That's why you go to the junkyard. you can buy a used OEM MAF for $40-50 with a warranty on it. most of them never fail, but there's a few that do. same with cam sensors and such. usually not an item that has to be replaced... I have no problem picking up stuff like that from a junkyard. window regulators or engine mounts, yeah.. buy new. buy OEM.
