Using Ebay questions.

What payment method is safest to use from safest to least safe paypal, personal check, cashiers check or money order? Also is buying something from someone in Canada a big risk compared with buying from someone within the states?

It's just like sending them cash(from your prespective). You might be able to dispute w/ PayPal though and get that person's account frozen or something. One of you fockers better not do that to me! hehe

paypal is probably the most safest due to the fact if you get screwed you can get your money back as long as you follow the policy.

Thanks for the info. Another question, does anyone actually buy the shipping insurance?

If you only use your credit card on paypal and don't get verified than you could always just cancel the paymet on your CC if you cant get satisfaction any other way.

You should ALWAYS buy the insurance on an item that could be broken or damaged. If you buy a FSTB or a piece of trim, tell the seller to mail the item through the US Postal Service with DELIVERY CONFIRMATION.

I would always put insurance on electronic items or glass. FedEx gives automatic insurance up to a certain amount ($50?) then it's like 50 cents for each $100 after that. I don't know about UPS, I try to stay away from them, unless you have something very large (say a set of wheels). The Postal Service won't take packages over 75 pounds.

The Postal Service has no guarantees except on numbered insured items (over $100 - blue tags) and express mail (expensive).

Unless you have something fragile, just send it through the mail with delivery confirmation and be sure to get the confirmation number from the person mailing it.
