After 3 e-mails with the same questions you have, I finally got that Ebay Nismo seller to admit the backing was rubber - thats all I could sqeeze out of him. I'm also a liitle leery of the qualtiy of these mats.

I need front floormats also, and the the two options besides Nismo I'm considering:
1) quality OEM replacments from www.carpet4cars.com $52.00 = 4pc set

Like that heel pad, though. I got me a section on my mat that's just carpet-less... now that's alotta heel movement, esp. for an auto :-d
