My 5 spd and this freakin heat

This is my first summer with my 92se which is a 5pd. The last 2 days have been 95 degrees and I've noticed that after about 30 minutes of driving the tranny can be difficult to shift, especially getting back into 1st. Does this have anything to do with the extreme heat? Have any of you experienced this? I assume that a tranny cooler may help with this. Thanks for your feedback.

Check the tranny temp sensor. Maybe the bracket to it is broken and it's slipped out of place. Mine would do that when it was really cold, and it was because of the sensor falling out...

The other thing to try is to flush and bleed the hydraulics. The car's 13 years old now and I bet the fluid is too.

try changing the fluid as stated before. If the fluid is as old as the car theres your problem. The oil would have lost its viscosity and protectent factor over so many years.
